Dr Ulrike Richter-Vapaatalo comes from Rendsburg, but lived in Helsinki for 28 years after completing her Master's degree in Nordic Studies (Münster, Stockholm). There she did her doctorate and taught in German studies, mainly with a focus on multilingualism and language comparison Finnish-Swedish-German. The languages of Scandinavia and building bridges around the Baltic Sea are a matter close to her heart.
