CYCLING TOURISM REGION CERTIFICATION CEREMONY

On 30 August, the NORDEN Festival will be all about bicycles. A large star ride, spectacular bicycle acrobatics, workshops, art, and literature will make the bicycle the centerpiece of the festival on the Königswiesen grounds.

The Ostseefjord Schlei GmbH has long been committed to promoting cycle tourism in the Schlei region. Thanks to its extensive cycling infrastructure and the introduction of the Radfjord Schlei brand, this focus continues to grow.

The Schleswig-Holstein Binnenland Tourismus e.V.  has also been actively promoting cycle tourism for many years and is responsible for the Ochsenweg, Schleswig-Holstein’s historic long-distance cycling route.

These efforts are now being recognized: Claus Ruhe Madsen, Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister for Economic Affairs, together with the German Cyclists’ Association (ADFC), will present prestigious awards to both partners.

The Ochsenweg will become Schleswig-Holstein’s first Certified Quality Cycle Route, while Radfjord Schlei will receive official recognition as a Cycle Tourism Region. This marks a significant milestone for cycle tourism in Schleswig-Holstein.
