Danceable soundscapes on the Schlei
Imagine the following scene: the sun has set, the waters of the Schlei are glistening, and the garden stage comes to life. KATJA RUGE – DJ, producer and photographer – takes you on a journey with her DJ set into a cinematic, cosmic soundscape of Italo disco, new wave, dark disco, dream house and 80s electronica – danceable, atmospheric and with depth.
As well as her DJ sets, Katja is best known for her photography. She has photographed hundreds of artists. Her portraits of Björk, Beth Ditto, Peaches and DJ Koze have appeared in magazines, on record covers and in editorials.
She is currently delighting audiences with her audiovisual project “Electric Lights – Women in Electronic Music” at the Planetarium Hamburg. A comprehensive audiovisual experience centred on the energy, passion and artistic perspectives of women in electronic music.
