When it comes to intelligent, poetic and yet wonderfully light-hearted German-language pop music, DIE HÖCHSTE EISENBAHN has been the band to watch for years. The quartet led by Francesco Wilking and Moritz Krämer combines subtle lyrics with warm melodies and a unique blend of melancholy and dry humour. Songs such as “Lisbeth” or “Was machst du dann” have long since become indie classics. Following acclaimed performances on the country’s major stages, they are now stopping off in Schleswig, bringing with them exactly the kind of music that makes a summer evening on the Königswiesen just that little bit more special – and thus provides the perfect finale to the Norden Festival.
