BÄRBEL STOLZENBURG
Experimental works using mixed media techniques
The Kiel-based artist BÄRBEL STOLZENBURG creates experimental mixed-media works that combine delicate layers of colour with bold, tactile textures created using various types of filler to form a harmonious whole. Working predominantly on square canvases and various substrates, she combines layering, scraping, overpainting and exposure – a process from which representational forms sometimes emerge quite unexpectedly.
A trained art therapist and studio artist, she is an experienced exhibition artist with over 40 solo and group exhibitions to her name and shares her knowledge as a lecturer at institutions including the FördeVHS Kiel and the Waldorf School.
She can be found at the art market on Saturday 29 August and Sunday 30 August during the first weekend of the festival.
