HENRIKE TREMP
Painting with sand, fire and rust
Sand, earth, fire, rust – HENRIKE TREMP’s paintings emerge from the interplay of materials that transform one another. Flowing textures of sand and paint change as they dry; the canvas is opened up with fire, revealing new layers; oxidising materials cause parts of the painting to rust. Chance is not a mistake here, but a method – and the painting process is deliberately stretched out over weeks.
At the art market on Saturday & Sunday, 5–6 September, 2–8 pm
