HEINO KARSCHEWSKI AND KAREN WIESE
HEINO KARSCHEWSKI lived by his inner compass, and it led him, through a series of detours, to art. Born in Eckernförde and having sailed the seas as an engineering assistant, he has devoted himself exclusively to professional painting since 1993.
The artist captivates with his subtle affinity for many of the elements that define the marine environment: waves and wind, seagulls and ships, people and polar bears appear in his paintings.... serene yet powerful motifs of great aesthetic appeal.
A positive aura paired with depth and North German serenity were important to him in his works, and so—sometimes strictly realistic, sometimes almost surreal in appearance—he created life on the canvas with brush and paint that was almost tangible.
Heino Karschewski passed away earlier this year. His wife, Karen Wiese, will present his works at the art market on Saturday & Sunday, September 5–6, from 2–8 p.m.
