A journey through Schleswig’s post-war history with a Super 8 film camera

Wilhelm Hansen, a teacher from Schleswig, spent the late 1950s through to the 1970s exploring the town with his camera. Forty hours of film footage document the development of his home town in the post-war period. In this documentary, Wilhelm Hansen’s footage is shown for the first time on this scale. This is complemented by interviews with residents of Schleswig, whose memories enrich the narrative.
The result is a 40-minute journey through time, exploring Schleswig’s recent history, which is sure to evoke many memories for those who lived through that era in the town.
A film by Kay Gerdes
