FILM FESTIVAL SCHLESWIG-HOLSTEIN

Since 1993, the Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival has showcased films and audiovisual works from and about the state. The festival is organized by Filmkultur Schleswig-Holstein e.V. in collaboration with the Kommunales Kino at Die Pumpe. At NORDEN, our long-standing partner once again presents a selection of moving short films: Who Was Dr. Levy?, When Will the Day Break, and Dear Hans.

We are especially excited to present Paul Jannowski. The film tells the extraordinary true story of the former East German circus star who escaped to the West by being launched across the River Elbe as a human cannonball. Director Björn “Beton” Warns (best known as a member of the band Fettes Brot) has brought his remarkable life to the screen with a wry, heartfelt look at courage, freedom, and the search for a place to call home.
