450 years beneath the sea

450 years – it takes this long until a plastic bottle in our oceans begins to crumble. Considering this, Jellyfish Manufacture has conceived an exhibition concerned with the littering of our oceans and presents an installation depicting a flood of jellyfish made of plastic bottles. Like the material itself, this is a multilayered matter that is equally fascinating and frightening given the rapid growth of jellyfish populations as a result of environmental factors. It is hopefully also an occasion to raise our perception of nature and the environment and to rethink our own consumer habits. Part of the exhibition will be pledge campaign in support of Schleswig Holstein-based association “Küste gegen Plastic” (Coast versus Plastic).
