If you initially link country music to Denmark, you’re either a lost cause – or a true music expert. A lot of people consider country to be corny, glorified, stereotypical American music, whose local fan base is mainly suspected among long-distance truck drivers. WORKERS IN SONGS from Denmark have devoted themselves to exactly this musical genre. They do without kitsch, add European folk elements, and season the whole thing with blues and rockabilly. With a pinch of humor, and last but not least the fantastic voice of singer Morten Krogh, they have practically reinvented the genre. WORKERS IN SONGS are fantastic on record and on stage. There is a flowing transition from quiet songs to rather aggressive ones. Earnestly and honestly performed, but always with a waggish sense of humor. Listening to them is great fun and makes you wish they would never stop playing.
