Die Schrägen Vögel
“Die Schrägen Vögel“ is a music project that originated in the Northern German village of Gelting.
For 30 years, young people have been playing numerus instruments for all kinds of occasions and delighting people of all ages. Concert tours took them to places as far as Namibia, Finland and Switzerland, and several records were produced in changing line-ups – the elders providing consitency, the young adding a fresh breeze. As of today, the group consists of 15 teenagers and young adults, delivering their songs on violins, flutes, guitars, the cello, the clarinet, and on the drums. Some outstanding female singers also appear as soloists and contribute to a varied program which ranges from Scandinavia to South Africa, from Ireland to Israel.
