The Golden Creek
Music for cold evenings on which you'd rather stay for another beer than go out and party.
The Golden Creek play music for people who like to listen and to drift. When you watch them perform, you quickly realize that this is not yet another hip indie-folk band. This is not a bunch of wired young men in skinny jeans, this is much better. "We're not cool. Our only aim is to write good songs.," they say of themselves. Their lyrics deal with nights spent in dark corners of quiet bars, Elvis Costello, and the guy from Taxi Driver. They write about life, love, hope, disappointment, and alcohol - maybe even in that order. Their songs are characterized by three-part harmonies, accompanied by piano, guitar, bass, drums, and the lap steel guitar. Recommended for fans of Wilco, Neil Young or Jeff Bridges - or simply for people who love listening to songs.
