AURORA (FIN)
The Finnish feature movie is the debut of director and screenwriter Miia Tervo.
One night at a hot dog stand in Finnish Lapland, a commitment-phobic party animal, Aurora, meets Darian, an Iranian. Darian suddenly asks her to marry him. Darian must marry a Finnish woman in order to get asylum for himself and his daughter. Aurora turns him down because she works as a nail technician and wants to move to Norway, away from her shitty life. But after meeting his cute daughter, Aurora agrees to help him. As Aurora introduces numerous women to Darian, the two become closer. When the perfect candidate for wife emerges, Darian and Aurora are faced with a difficult choice: pretend to be happy, or finally stop running.
