KOMMANDO KORN
In northern Germany, on the edge of Schleswig-Holstein, lies the rural region called Dithmarschen. An area full of farms, tractors and windmills, where photographer Anna Tiessen grew up and returned for her final project "Kommando Korn".
Still paradise in her childhood, she became more and more alienated from her rural origins in her teenage years and fled to the city, which was so much more exciting for her. With a few years' distance and a fresh view of her homeland, she discovered her little brother's youth clique, consisting of budding young farmers and screwdrivers, who reinvented the fascination of the village for her.
"Kommando Korn" tells of freedom and being young in the province,
of friendship and intoxication, of work and the desire to belong.
