December 1978: Bank robber Gisela is looking forward to the release of her accomplice Frieder from prison. As a surprise for him, she has planned the robbery of a jewelry store in downtown Hamburg. This takes place shortly after Christmas, but not everything goes according to plan. There is a shootout, and an obscure acquaintance of Gisela, joins the fleeing gangsters. The two have met in the just opened casino in the Hotel Interconti. The escape leads to the destructive snow disaster that overtakes northern Germany around the turn of the year. The gang is trapped in a farmhouse in Ostholstein. Rivalries and intrigues break out. Who can trust whom? In the struggle against each other, the criminals miss the fact that a deadly danger lurks in the neighboring farm.
