Swutscher
Quirky guitars meet creaky vocals and plenty of North German humor.
Swutscher is a Low German expression referring to a person who leads a slovely life. Their music, however, is far from low but a blend of absurdity and finesse. The sextet from Hamburg combine comedy from grandpa’s days at the camp fire with “Rhener Romantik”, and Schlager music from the 50s with a wonderfully hysterical garage sound. Their EP “Wahnwitz”, released in 2016, was sold out within a few weeks, and rightly so. Over the past months they have toured with bands such as Isolation Berlin and The Moonlandingz. Whether quirkily wavering through Northern German sceneries or riding a “Drahtesel”, they are always equipped with the obligatory beer can – here comes Swutscher.
