HEINOS WORLD
Joska Pintschovius on Heino Jaeger, perhaps the greatest satirist Germany ever had but didn't know. Moderation: Oliver Lück
For satirist Eckhard Henscheid, Heino Jaeger was ‘the Mozart of comedy’. Loriot said: ‘How could it happen that Heino Jaeger remained an insider tip all these years? We probably didn't deserve him.’ And Olli Dittrich described his great role model as follows: ‘Heino had the gift of being able to pick out the highly comic, the bizarre, the off-beat aspects of everyday life, the German pomposity, the humour of philistinism and club bourgeoisie and reproduce them immediately one-to-one. That had never been done before and has never been done since. Heino Jaeger is the master of us all, a genius and still unrivalled today. Without Jaeger, Dittsche would never have existed.’
Our anticipation is boundless to be able to welcome Jaeger's best friend and long-time companion Joska Pintschovius to the NORDEN Festival. In conversation with Oliver Lück, the 84-year-old will take us into the world of the painter, satirist and word artist who died in Bad Oldesloe in 1997. Pintschovius (folklorist, author and ‘old man from the heath’) met Jaeger in Schleswig at the end of the 1960s and will present previously unseen film footage from their time together. There will also be absurd and absolutely punchline-free radio pieces. Rocko Schamoni on Joska Pintschovius: ‘It's worth listening to him, you can do that for hours and days.’ Come to the Kulturzelt, don't miss it!
