LIGHT HOUSES
German-Danish art project
With the LIGHT HOUSES project, we want to show how art can build bridges - between countries, people and perspectives. It is a cooperation between the Kunstskole Sønderborg & the German the nordic arts ass. e.V. and is supported by the Interreg Citizens' Project Fund. The miniature concrete houses, made by Hamburg artist Markus Becker and individually designed by artists from Germany and Denmark, symbolize light, hope and community.
Here, art becomes a medium to draw attention to social grievances and at the same time provide concrete help: the sale of the houses supports a social project that makes real change possible. LIGHT HOUSES is part of the Nørden Festival's lighting concept and combines artistic expression with social responsibility - because art can do more when it is created and shared together.
