Whales vs. wilderness
Hanna Plaß - 15min - Documentary - 2024 - Winner Audience Award Short Film
Ååle Elke was born in 1935 in the vastness of the Frisian horizon and in the midst of fascism. She now lives alone in an old farmhouse with a beautiful garden, lacking nothing except her right index finger. She has lost it in the battle against the mole, which throws new black holes into her paradisiacal garden day after day. In this western, the relationship between the former shooting princess and her arch-enemy becomes a metaphor for how the forgotten generation deals with feelings and memories. A documentary short film about our grandmother, in Frisian.
