NORDEN 2024 was a great success and we are likely to be in the black. The weather was perfect and more people came to the Königswiesen than ever before. ?
But the truth is that most of the tickets were bought at very short notice, the profit margins are low with the current organization and the risk is high: What would have happened if the festival had been rained out?
We therefore took the time this year to run through various scenarios in order to evaluate the festival. We discussed topics such as FESTIVAL DURATION, OPENING HOURS, PROGRAM DENSITY, PRICE STRUCTURE AND DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES in detail as a team. We consulted with the city of Schleswig, the circle of friends and the main sponsors and evaluated the guest survey. More than 800 NORDEN FANS took part in the evaluation. That's also a record! ?
The result is now clear: the 7th NORDEN Festival will take place from August 28 to September 7 2025, from Thursday to Sunday, i.e. on a total of 8 EVENT DAYS. The festival will therefore be one weekend shorter. By shortening the festival, we hope to achieve a more efficient cost structure without compromising on the quality, design and orientation of the festival.
The festival will be more compact and allows us to look to the future with optimism. The new structure may lead to individual event days being sold out; this is intended to reward all those who give us a leap of faith and buy a FESTIVALPASS in advance. ?️
And if you think we're running out of steam after six years, you're far from it.
On the contrary: NORDEN is more important to us than ever and the measures are stabilizing the festival in such a way that it can remain with us as SCHLESWIGS 5. SEASON for a long time to come. We very much hope and trust that you will support this development!
Because the idea of the NORDEN Festival is stronger than ever before. Your support, the NORDEN circle of friends, our festival partners, the network in Schleswig-Holstein and Northern Europe is growing and growing. That makes us very happy and motivates us. As our expectations of the festival grow, so does our responsibility to deliver the best NORDEN Festival ever to you every year and we are putting a lot of energy into the preparations.
The success of NORDEN LIGHTS has really surprised us. Never before have we had so many visitors in the evening hours. It's clear that we are expanding this part of the program and also want to let it shine on the water next year. Booking has already begun and we will be publishing the first names very soon. You can look forward to some surprises! ?

The advance sale of the designed and limited hardcover Early Bird tickets starts on October 15, 2024 at 9 a.m. at the Liesegang bookstore in Schleswig. Limited early bird tickets are available on the same day in the NORDEN online store at www.norden-festival.com.
