NORDPOP is the Local Music Weekend as part of the NORDEN - The Nordic Arts Festival 2021
A weekend of current pop music from popular bands and newcomers from Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg
26-29 August 2021, Königswiesen, Schleswig
The pandemic has hit cultural life hard, especially the area of live music. The makers of the NORDEN Festival have taken this as an opportunity to offer the local music scene from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein a stage with a new format: NORDPOP as part of the NORDEN Festival from 26 to 29 August 2021.
The idea of NORDPOP is to bring well-known musicians together with newcomers. All bands and solo artists come from Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. On two stages you can experience the whole range of current pop music from the north. Among them: Tonbandgerät, Lina Mali, Helgen, Bernd Begemann, Catt and many others. "The headliner for the Saturday evening remains a surprise for now and will only be announced two weeks before the festival," report festival organisers Manfred Pakusius and Marno Happ.
NORDPOP offers a platform for the musicians to network with each other and to present themselves beyond the performance. There will be autograph sessions, meet and greet sessions and the opportunity to shoot videos and trailers on site. For this purpose, a media dock will be set up on the Schlei and implemented by the NORDEN Festival media team.
"In addition to the international musicians from Scandinavia, the Baltic States and Poland, we are keen to be a location for current music and newcomers from Schleswig-Holstein and Hamburg," say the organisers. "The Schleibühne serves as a performance venue for already well-known and celebrated artists. And the Gartenbühne as a platform for newcomers, experimental music as well as DJ sets."
